Code_2_Kiln

Code_2_Kiln is an ongoing project exploring themes of physicality and tangibility within the context of generative art. Delving into the historical and cultural significance of both pottery and code as crafts. Using the custom-designed CNC plotter, clay slip is used to produce raised patterns onto ceramic tiles. Resulting in objects which are both tactile and visually appealing. The patterns are generated using fractal, space filling curves through the principles of Lindenmayer systems.

Through its tangible outputs, Code_2_Kiln invites us to consider not only the histories embedded in the crafts it employs but also the futures we might envision for generative art beyond the confines of the screen.
